I had a nice reply from the seller. In part it said:
"Yes. These are originals. One pattern alone is going for 157.00 on ebay."
I am amazed. I see original patterns on ebay for as much as $99.00 recently but haven't dug back too far. If the patterns are originals, they're a bargain. If you do an advanced search for quilt patterns, completed, you can see what's been selling.

Oh, for crying out loud! as my mom would say.
They may have been copied and organized in the envelopes by someone who took the time to go through a whole lot of patterns-even those dating back to the 1930"s. Possibly this person's grandmothers patterns. And they might not have been.
Price is ridiculous to me. Same ones possibly free online.

If they are original then in my opinion they are useful only to a quilt historian/collector. The same patterns are available in many many books. Im not sure a historian would pay the asking price. They'd be over priced is they were 100 cents each.
