I am still pretty new to quilting. What is the thinest batting made? I am looking to make a quilt for when we move to Texas. I have seen where some just use flannel. I don't like the feel of flannel. Thanks for your help.

Warm and Natural is thin. I think the low loft polyester batting is thin. It may be warm. Some in the warm areas don't use batting. Some one more knowledgeable will be around.

Quilters Dream Request loft is about as light and low loft as you can get without going the flannel route. I would recommend cotton because it breaths. Be advised with that low of a loft you won't get much definition at all from your quilting.

Thermore batting is very light and drapes very well. I have used for baby quilts and wall hangings.
I forget where I have gotten it. I really like it. It quilts nicely by machine or by hand.

For a thin all cotton batting I like Cream Rose or Cream White. I find its a perfect choice for a "summer" quilt. It also has wonderful drape.

As a batting yo won't have to worry about the feel of the flannel, being that it will be sandwiched. It works great for a light and thin quilt batting.

I used this for a baby quilt and loved how it came out! So light, soft and the drape made it perfect to wrap a baby up in!!!

I use the warm and natural. Having lived in North Texas for about 25 years, I wouldn't use anything too thin for a batting. It still gets cold in the winter here.
