you can do curvy lines in the sashings easily. i do them with my walking/quilting foot on and just move the quilt to the left and right as i go along. that would give movement more than straight lines. have fun. Cute quilt!!

I really like butterfly blocks and this one is SO cute!

Here's a possible design that is done with all straight lines. Each butterfly could be completed before moving on to the next one by doing one set of wings, sewing across the middle of the body and doing the other set of wings.

I really like this idea; however, I might stitch one side of the wings then stitch around the body to the other set of wings, then around the other part of the body back to where I began.

You could do a continuous curve in the squares on the wings.

Oooo I think I can actually do this one! I really suck at Free motion quilting so this is just perfect. I really like minimal quilting.

Thanks so much!! And thanks to everyone for their ideas.

The pattern is one I found in one of those magazines that is called 100 blocks or something like that. When I'm down in my sewing room I'll try to find the exact name and issue for you.

Yep... I think this is what I'll do. That way the body is quilted also
