My friend called last night to tell me that her BIL was actually so touched that he started crying (and so did I dangit!). His wife just didn't mention it because she didn't want to embarrass him, being the big tough guy that he is.

On that note, someone made a post earlier about not getting the kind of thanks they want and or expect when they help someone out. But one of the greatest lessons I've learned in life is to not look to others to validate your worth, or in this instant, your charity. If you have no hidden agenda, simply giving should be enough. Everything else, is just, everything else.

Just my two cents.
I so agree. Thank you for sharing your story.

I agree, giving to those in need, makes me feel good. If give you feedback, that's icing on cake.

The saying "what goes around comes around" is true but it doesn't always come from where it's given. My joy comes from the giving but I've always been that way, even as a child. (Many many moons ago)

That is so true. When I'm about to make a quilt for someone, I think it thru.If it's a GO,that quilt is the same as done & gone to me.It is what it is & hopefully they will appreciate it,but I'll never know. The fun for me is in the doing.JMO

That is a wonderful story and well said. Even if you don't get positive feedback and the time, you never really know what the person receving the gift is thinking. Well done.

It's the simply acts of kindness that lifts a person spirit, no matter who or where it comes from.

My sentiments exactly Lisa. Well said. I'll keep that big guy in my thoughts and prayers for a postive outcome.
