Well said! A gifted quilt is a special gift. Our reward is in the giving, without strings attached. :)

But one of the greatest lessons I've learned in life is to not look to others to validate your worth, or in this instant, your charity. If you have no hidden agenda, simply giving should be enough. Everything else, is just, everything else.

Words to live by!

I think most guys love having a quilt made for them. My brothers just love the quilts i have given to them. Even the one who doesn't take care of anything still has his. They seem to appreciate the work that went into it and the loving thoughts that went into making it.

I am so glad to "hear" someone express this sentiment like you did Lisalissa. It really did my heart good. Thanks for your story and for saying it so well.

I so agree with you. I make a lot of Quilts for Kids, and also for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I know they are cherished and that is enough for me. I have a good feeling while I am making them and that I know some little kid will know a "stranger" cared enough to make something just for him or her.
