Default Husky by Viking model 170....help!!!

I bought a husky sewing machine a few months ago and finally brought it out today to sew on it, however I don't have a manual for it, nor can I find any information on the internet about it. Can anyone help me. I can't figure out how to wind the bobbin, and it has a few extra buttons I'm not sure about either. I will try to post pictures of the machine and show you what my issues are...if not can anyone help me anyway. Please

I have a Husky MOdel 170 and cannot get the face plate door open. The owners manual does not indicate there is a lever to press to open it...looks like it should just swing open, but mine does not. Thoughts?

If you go to the husquavarnaviking.com website....you will see a tab up on the top that says support and updates....if you click on that there will be drop down menu. There will a list of machines and if you go all the way to the bottom, there is a link to "all other machines" This is the older ones.....and you can download manuals....but I did not see a listing for a husky 107, but if click on one of the huskystar ones, there is a phone number for support. Do you know about how old your machine is.?

Hi Linda, I have a 6460, made in the early 70s. I don't know how much I would be able to help you with your machine, but if there are similarities I'd be happy to try.

Welcome. Yes, it looks like it should just swing open from the front toward the left. It looks like the hinge is on the top back so there is probably some sort of thing that it holds it together about two thirds of the way down on front. I'm thinking that if you grab it with your left hand thumb in the front and fingers in the back that you can pull with your thumb and sort of push with your fingers on the back that the face cover will swing open.

Maybe a picture will help. We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Some additional info regarding reducing images at post #4 and images for the scroll and upload button can be found at #5 of quilt block ID?
