Make a phone call to Sweden....consumer affairs, or President if you need to.
I don't know what that person was talking about, moving out of the country...that was a lie. The machines are made in Sweden and the home offices are there.

before you run amok telling everybody, remember please that yours is one machine out of thousands made, sold, and running in the homes of happy owners.

i definitely hope you and the dealer can get your problem solved. you may have bought a new one elsewhere, but viking still owes you one, too, don't they?

be persistent. i'd look for a government website that provides information on consumer rights protection, advocacy and complaint processes. there must be an agency (ministry?) that deals with such things. i'll bet they can help.

Yes, actually, it was. But I don't think she was trying to get my business. I'm not in the market for a new machine and she actually has a D1 at home she uses. she said she had heard that but didn't know.

Love my D1. sure hope this all gets worked out. I would love it if everything was made right here in my home, USA. But that is just not the world we live in.

I heard that they are moving to China too.
I got my Designer SE from a dealer here.....Wouldn't you know it that she got rid of her dealership with them and now I have to drive 35 miles or so to go to another if there is a problem.
She wasn't very nice to me anyway. I was to get a free cleaning and she told me....I will get to your's when I HAVE TIME. She runs a quilt shop also. You can bet I will not buy from her! Wants my $$ but won't help you out....ERRR!

What a shame, you certainly have every right to be disappointed. The machine was costly and you deserve good cutomer service. It has nothing at all to do with you that they are moving. It seems there is no problem getting the new machines into the stores.
