I'm so drooling over the bernina 440 with it's groovy stitch regulator, (BSR) but as we all know they are insanely expensive. my question is does any other machine have this? like janome, singer; etc???
any help would be great!
thanks

Janome does not have one - that I'm aware of. And I think Bernina is an excellent machine for free motion quilting because it does beautiful such beautiful stitches.

I keep hoping that the prices drop on this feature or that other brands come out with it too...maybe then there will be some more competitve pricing

Doesn't most of the LAs have a regulator? It shouldn't be that complicated to make a regulator to fit other brands of machines, maybe the new models will have one soon.

I know nothing about stitch regulators as I have a $89 machine but I've read several threads on here regarding people having problems with them.

I wouldn't swear, but I think that it is true that Bernina is the only domestic machine with the stitch regulator. I bought mine just because of it and I love love love love love it! But...I'll have to tell you, it won't work on a fabric where it can't see...like a shiny organza...anything where the light bounces off. I still love it though!

I hear the Bernina Stitch Regulator is $1,000 if you buy it separate from the machine. Bernina accessories are very expensive.

Bernina may have the patten for the stitch regulator. If so other companies have to wait for the patten date to run out.
