Default I finally am doing it!

Way back in the late 70's I made my first quilt. It has embroidery patches. I pieced it and put in a half frame. I didn't know what I was doing when I put the batting and backing material together, but I started quilting it. I got half way and realized I didn't have enough backing material left. I needed about 18 inches. I got upset, pulled it out of the frame and stuffed it in the cedar chest. Well, the poor thing was calling to me the other week, so I searched in my old material and low and behold I found a piece of the backing material. (I tend to save everything) I sewed the piece in and had my husband help me put it in the frame AGAIN. I'm going to tackle quilting it, even though it is out of shape and patched. I feel it is calling me to give it a chance. I will hopefully be able to get it done and will post a picture of it. I must say, my quilting stitches back then weren't to bad. Probaby better than they will be now. Does anyone else have a poor forgotten Mistake in their cedar chests or attic??

I don't know if they are mistakes but I do have items that I decided I didn't like or didn't enjoy the technique. But it is good to either finish them when they call to you or pass them on to someone who will. Glad you have it back on the frame. Look forward to seeing the pictures.

I am presently quilting a ufo from 1977! It is appliqued and the thread is very old so I am doing machine applique over it. It is on my longarm so I am just straight sewing the borders of each applique piece, then outlining it and then quilting it. Time consuming but I really am going to finish it!
