I thought I was ordering 10 YARDS of fabric. Imaging my surprise when I got 2 1/2 yards -- 10 FQs -- somewhere on the web site there is a note that all amounts are FQs not yards.

They were very nice and will take it back when I called them this afternoon.

It was for the backing on the quilt I just finished.

I will be going to Bangor/Brewer tomorrow and hope to find something there for CJs quilt.

Good Grief....what a disappointment! Is there a Marden's near you? They have lots of fabric for quilt backs, and their prices are fabulous.

Once I ordered 1/4 a yard and needed the width of the fabric, and got a fat quarter. Now, I read the tiny little print!!

The price didn't make you curious? I mean 10 yards vs 10 fat quarters?

I have a big problem with shops that price by the fat quarter or 1/2 yard. It should be one the HOME page exactly what you can expect when you order. You shouldn't have to search for the 'fine' print. I usually don't order from those shops. I don't have time nor the money to pay $4.95 shipping on purchasing what I think is 4 yards to only get 2. With the difference in pricing on websites from $6.99 a yard to $11.00 a yard or more in other countries, you can't guarantee what your getting. I hope everything works out for you. If you post what kind of fabric your looking for maybe someone can hook you up with a place where you can afford to get what you want and at an affordable price.

I'll admit that I'm somewhat math stupid -- and I used to be an accountant -- I just didn't read all the directions. Counting the shipping, it came to over $6.00 a yard.

I will call my fav LQS tomorrow and ask what colors they have in 108 and 120" fabrics. I'd go, but it is 30 mile each way. so it's best to call first.

Yes the shop was very pleasant and immediately offered to have me return it and they will credit it to my account.

BTW -- the fabric is really lovely -- I just don't want to add to a stash that I'm trying to keep down. I have another stash on the west coast.

Sometimes I find web sites to be very hard to navigate and very confusing. Click the wrong button and look what happens!
