Okay. I wanted to do a nine patch wedding quilt for me and my future husband and then I got to looking at some quilts here on the website. The one where there is an "X" over each square in a nine patch looked really pretty. Is that particular quilt a beginners quilt? I looked pretty simple to me

Nine patch is one of the simpler designs, but there are plenty of others too. Look at quilter's cache - tons of blocks there.
