Yip -- when I started painting, my teacher explained how after a while we'd start seeing all the colors out there. Example....usually we look at a forest of pine trees and think green.....next time you look at a forest of trees, LOOK at how many greens are in that forest. I have a thing for clouds, too. Not long ago I was looking at some clouds and thinking it was too bad I couldn't lay those into a quilt! Yeah, you're hooked!

sounds normal to me.
we look at the world differently, every piece of clothing, is checked out to see if it would work good in a quilt LOL. And there are patterns everywhere. we have an old court house here. and the tiles in it are jsut wonderful! Every time I go to pay the taxes. i have to take time to stop and check them out. LOL

I've tried several times to get good close ups of my chickens so I can print me some small pieces of fabric! The way the browns and reds and yellows are patterned I know it would be beautiful!

I see patterns and designs everywhere too. God installed our creativity at birth. I think we just have to live with it. Lucky us. :-)

I've looked at architectural elements - such as patterns in a brick wall and wondered what it would look like on a scrapbook page (or now in a quilt).

I took pics of the flooring on our cruise ship with a future quilt in mind. DH thought I was crazy, but he did stop walking so I could take the pic. I'm sure some of the people that were around me thought I was crazy, but maybe I am,lol!!

Maybe you are on to something as an alternate career as fabric designer :-)

This is one picture I'm thinking about playing with in the future. It is the tilework from a floor in Pompeii.

i have been looking at the vinal tile in my bathroom and thinking that it is a pretty quilt pattern. hehe. hate the colors in it for the floor because you see everything that walks across it. but would make a wonderful quilt.
