I would rip it out if I wasn't happy with it. I have ripped a couple quilts. Washing and drying will fix lots of boo boos.

I understand that process of the grief when we make a boo boo, especially on something special. However, us Mom's have super power's and always shine on.

Hope you take a deep breath and RIP, it probably isn’t something you want to keep. It will wear unevenly.

I had a quilt pucker on the back only one time. I was recovering from shoulder surgery and that limitation affected my basting the quilt. The back was a solid color, and the pleat was really noticeable. I decided to fold the pleat over and sew it down like you described. It was still noticeable.

I entered it into a national show and received a Judges Choice ribbon... It's the only quilt that I have ever won a ribbon for at a national show. The judge must not have looked at the back.

I gave it away to the first person who said that they liked the colors. It still bothers me.

Almost exactly what I was going to say! I was going to suggest a glass of wine, too. Good luck!

I think it is more about how you feel about the 'oops'. My kids would laugh about it and say it shows how mom can make mistakes. They would be ok. It would be more about could I live with giving it to them that way. After all, it is the top side that everybody sees. I'm sure he would be happy with a handmade quilt from his mom!!

You did well. It is too late now but I've read if you do it on the bobbin side it goes much better. You are a great mom.
