Default I know it sounds silly, but has anyone

made a vest for a chicken? My friend saw some on FB and asked me if I could make one for her chicken. The one she saw was knitted and I told her I couldn't do that exactly, but I could make a quilted vest. Now I am working on a vest for a 3 lb. chicken. Any ideas/advice/experience?

Probably to keep them warm. My neighbor has a heat lamp in her coop but they probably get cold when they go outside.

It has been colder here than usual. This project does make me laugh, but people put coats on their dogs, right?!?!

Wow, I got a good laugh out of this post. But then I did some googling and actually found info on how to make a chicken vest. Maybe these will be helpful to you.

Thanks for the laugh. I tried reading it to my husband but kept cracking up mid-sentence.

Although this is a knitting program, I think it would work fine cut out of fleece:

This one shows how you can position buttons and buttonholes:

Edit: It needs to be snug so the chicken doesn't get its foot caught in the material. The knitted sweaters have a bit of an advantage in that respect:
