Since my bobbin is a top loading one I can also just take a peak after the message to see how far I can go without stopping. I love the features on my machine and this is probably right up there at the top.

Does anyone else "see" the dolphin head in the quilt...or is it me?

Yes, you are lucky. Bobbin ran out twice on me today - both times in a really bad spot. I hate when that happens!

Haaaaaa, I didn't even see it! Thanks for pointing it out! BTW, I got the quilt finished, and I have to re-sew some seams, as I didn't leave enough seam allowance at the fringe edges......boo hoo! (that's the cut edges of the fringe showing on the back side, and the color isn't true, it's a lot prettier in person)

My machine has a warning when it gets low on thread in the bobbin. It's pretty accurate on the bobbins wound by the machine but if I use prewound bobbins they seem to have lots more thread on them and the constant reminders that I am low on thread drives me nuts and I eventually run out in the middle of something. Murphy's law, I guess.

You are lucky! Mine usually runs out:
1. about 3 inches from the end of a long seam. OR
2. Right after I start chain piecing a bunch of small pieces.
I chain pieced about 30 "fan blades" for Dresden plate blocks not realizing I ran put of bobbin thread after the first 4! And I thought I was on a roll...

Congratulations and may you bask in the glory of using every bit of that bobbin thread. Usually, I run out of bobbin thread (I have a drop in bobbin machine too) when I have about 6 inches to sew to finish, even though I think I start out with enough bobbins filled for the project. It's nice to know that someone can literally sew to the last thread in the bobbin. Have a great day.

Sometimes that low bobbin warning isn't quite right if there is a bit more thread wound at the top of the bobbin; there might be plenty to finish the seam and it won't let me. That really annoys me. I have a Sapphire 875.

I also have the bobbin remainder . Do you sew faster hoping you will get to the end before you run out?
