I have done a quilt made of log cabin squares and not sure of what stenciling would look good. Does anyone have any ideas to throw my way??? I would really appreciate any advice.

Do you want to hand quilt or machine quilt? Also, how wide are the log cabin strips?

OK. Those are very narrow strips. What I would suggest is machine quilting down the center of the strips. Instead of square sewing, though (would make *lots* of stops and starts), make it continuous. I can't draw it here so don't know how to explain it. If I can find a pattern online, I will post it.

Log cabins can also look nice with circular quilting patterns (the curves of the quilting creating a nice contrast to the geometrics of the piecing) such as fans or all-over squiggles.

Thanks so much, I will look at that. When it is finished I will post a picture. It's only the 2nd quilt I have done and I think I've rather impressed myself :)

    Thanks again.
