I am going to try to make a queen size quilt for my daughter for Christmas. She loves plaids, so I bought a bunch. I kinda had it in my head I would like to do the friendship star with the plaids, what do you guys think? Here are the first 3 pictures of my plaid fabric. I'll post the others in a sec. Thanks so much for your help.

I'm not sure if I want to do a star on every block or something else I'm totally lost. Do you like the blue background or the cream, or would all different colors of green on each star be better. Of course after I bought all this fabric, she tells me she'd LOVE a quilt with earth tones!!! HELP ME

Wow! They are beautiful. Has someone made a little trip to Avonport? LOL! Just in case you don't already spend time here check out the link to quiltville. I wanted you to see something plaid right away, but the whole site is wonderful. My favorite next to the board. http://quiltville.com/scrapsandshirttailspreview.shtml

I love your plaids. I can't wait to see the finished quilt.

I saw the new pic after I posted. I like the blue back ground best but I like darker colors. Lol. But if your DD wants earth tones then you should use the cream. Did you tell her that you already bought the fabrics?

Well, I love the blue, but there is really not enough contrast to be your backing. The white or creams seems like too much contrast, so your greens might just be the right choice.

Try making a block with each and see how you like them then..

I love the plaids by the way
