After a very hard week last week and a very tiring Monday and Tuesday of this week, I ran away from home. Didn't tell anyone where I was going, only that I'd be in Lafayette and I'd be home in time for supper.

I hadn't been to JoAnn's in a very long time, probably before Christmas. When someone on another thread mentioned the Kona Premium muslin, I thought I'd go to see what all the buzz was about. Well -- it's beautiful. Picked up some of the bleached and some of the unbleached. AND WHILE I WAS IN THE STORE  , I also picked up a couple of pieces of beige and a piece of black. Then I picked up several notions and thread. All in all, it was a very "relaxing" day. Stopped on the way home for lunch at an Italian buffet.

When I got back home, I scrubbed my hard floors. My house was very happy that I had run away for a while.

Am I the only one who feels the need to just run away once in a while?

Well, I've felt the urge, but haven't given in. Partly because my idea of running away would include an overnight - or two. Just some peace and quiet! But I'd feel too guilty to enjoy it, so don't actually do it.

I've also thought, while driving, about what it would be like to just keep going...

Sounds like you were in need of a break. Glad to hear you had a nice day. Isn't that muslin great? So much nicer than the regular stuff. I buy it w/ my coupons, so the price isn't bad.

Yes, I think everyone needs to run away once in a while...it's good for the spirit! I'll have to check out the Kona Premium Muslin next time I'm in JoAnn's (hum, could be tomorrow).

I run away once a month for a few hours to the quilt shop. But what I'd really like is for the rest of the family to run away for a day or two. Then I'd have the house to myself and no interruptions when sewing unless I want to take a break! :D

When I'm really stressed after work or just a bad day, I love to sit and sew. In a very short time, I'm relaxed and it helps tremendously!

Gail, remember back in February when I got laid off? Took part of that severance check right to my favorite quilt store! I had a ball, all the time I needed to look at all the eye candy, the fabrics - and to remember that no matter what goes on, I can find a bit of magic in quilting. It feeds our soul, right?

Good for you!!!
I had one of those days last Saturday. Got up early went to 2 different quilt stores, and then to Joanns, Hobby Lobby. I got Halloween and Christmas fabric and some new patterns for holiday aprons. That is my kinda of day.

It was great we all need some alone time to relax.
