I watced Fons and Porter show this morning and wanted to pass on a few things I learned.
They have a set of triangle square up templates in their notion line. they seemed to be very helpful. Saw how they used them. May be worth owning since many of us like to make 1/2 square triangles.http://www.shopfonsandporter.com/pro...0Templates.htm
Often check the back of the fabric you may be also to use the back side as a light. Good for us that need to save $$ or our fabric budget is small.
When doing a buttonhole stitch by hand alwyas use a hoop to prevent puckering.
Use a embrodery hoop when you need to make a cirlce. Good idea to buy hoops in various sizes. So let's start loooking for hoops at the thrift store aunties or grandmas closet.
Have A Good Sewing Day Everybody!!!!

I much prefer Quilt in a Day's triangle square up ruler.
With this ruler you only make one cut. You lay the triangle on the mat before you open it and lay the ruler on the stitch line and cut once for the size you want. It is such a time saver.

I have both of the Fons and Porter tips dvd's but the second one did not work and they sent me another one and it does not work either. I love the tips but not thier sewing methods, too much work. I get thier magazine and like it very much especially the pictures of all the quilts in the mag are inside the back cover, helps when looking for a pattern.
