I am at a loss for what to put on a generic label for a baby quilt. The quilt is for a coworker I've never met who works 800 miles away. I feel badly that she's all alone there because if she were in our office, we'd have a baby shower. So I made a quilt and would like to put a label on it, but I'm not sure what to put on the label. It's a girl, but no name decided yet. I wanted to give it to her before the baby is born.

Ever do a generic label? I'd love some input!

Although, if you wait til the baby is born, you could personalize the quilt with the baby's full name, date, weight, length.

Personally, I don't like giving gifts before babies are born ... there's always the chance that something will go wrong. I totally hesitate in the pre-birth gifting.

Here's a few I found.

Baby Quilting Quotes
•A package of joy, a bundle of bliss/ This quilt for baby was sealed with a kiss
•Blessed are the children, for they shall inherit the quilts!
•Ten little fingers/ Ten little toes/ The sweetest of smiles/ And a cute little nose/ All these add up/ To a wonderful thing--/ A baby--/ The greatest gift/ Life can bring.

and include a pen so she can fill in the name after the baby is born.

Just a thought.

I really like this.

Maybe other coworkers would like to 'gift' her with some store coupons. Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc ... or even restaurant coupons for when the baby is a bit older. These wouldn't add much weight to the package and would be like a long distance shower.
