Just like everything else outthere quilting has it's trends, quillows, jelly roll quilts etc. Wonder what the next big quilt trend will be.

Good question. I think it may be 'pre-cut' with everybody's fascination with cutting machines. It's only a guess....

Yep, sweet, I agree with you. The precut machines are really being pushed for fabric and paper. We will be seeing more patterns using these designs for applique and piecing. Just like the jelly rolls and charms.

With the price of fabric as it's going to be, I'd bet the next trend will be back to cutting up our clothes to make quilts!!

I think it is already a trend. I love checking out etsy...just love seeing what other people make and there are lots of people making "upcycled" items using clothes or whatever they have. If you go there and do a search and just put upcycled in, you'd be amazed at what others have made there.

I think the reuse recycle tread will not only be popular but necessary as the prices of goods will increase dramatically this year. All the economic/financial reports DH receives indicates this is the year of economic survival. Mostly food prices. Save those fabric scraps!

I agree with recycling or scrappy quilts. I have truly grown to love the scrappy quilts, but still a little intimidated with them. It is still hard for me to not match everything, but I am getting better thanks to the wonderful quilters on this site.
