I think I'd really like to do this. (Because I don't already have at least 50 quilts on my "todo" list...) Maybe somebody will start a group up again?

That isn't a stupid question. The only stupid question is the one that you want an answer to and don't ask anyone. LOL

Thanks for asking the question. I thought of Mary Jane shoes when I saw the question....Duh. I just learned you could go to top of page and ask questions too. So thanks for that info.
Never too old to learn, they say.

No such thing as a stupid question here. If you don't ask, you will never know. I love the Dear Jane quilt, but don't desire to make one. I truly admire anyone who makes one.

Jane Stickles made a quilt while waiting for her husband to come home from war - the Civil War. She kept track of the number of pieces in all those tiny blocks. "Dear Jane" quilts are those made to replicate the original. There is a book out about it, with the patterns. I saw a "Dear Jane" this past weekend at a local quilt show. It was phenomenal!

I've made my first two Dear Jane blocks. Starting with the most difficult first, to get them out of the way. With that first little block (4 and a half freaking hours!), I was most definitely questioning Jane's sanity!!

One of my favourite sayings, especially when I start a new group of quilt newbies.

Hi, I am doing my "baby jane" using Christmas" fabric -- not Civil War fabric as in the book. It is written by Brenda Papadakis and is called Dear Jane the Two Hundred Twentyfive Patterns.

Brenda researched the story of Jane Stickles quilt. The original quilt made in 1863 hangs in The Bennington Museum in Vermont for a short time of the year. I would love to see it one day.
I have a design wall of the 4 1/2" blocks I have done so far - if you click on the link below and then click on the individual block it will enlarge it. Please PM me if I can help any further.
