Does anyone have a great pattern for a sewing kit? I'm wanting one that I can take with me that will hold the usual pins, needles, scissors, thread, etc. I want one that I can just pick up and go and have most of the items I would need for hand piecing. I might have to have something else to hold the project I'm working on, depending on size. I mostly want something quite small.
I'm also looking for a pattern for holding the Clover Iron with the attachments. I've seen one for just the original iron, but that doesn't hold anything else. Has anyone made one of these, or do I need to draft my own pattern?

You could sew two potholders together around 3 sides, and then sew up the middle. One side for the iron and the other for the cord. A zippered pouch on the outside (back) to hold the attatchments, and then make a top (out of a third one) to fold over to hold the iron and cord inside. :D:D:D

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. http://www.ufo-rphanage.com/busy-bags.shtml On this one, how would it be to make bags with the heavy clear plastic and put in zippers and then sew or glue on the sticky tape velcro instead of trying to get the little zip-lock bags? The little baggies are not very heavy, and might rip easily. Or does that sound like too much trouble?

I think I might have to use rectangle pot holders for the iron, as it is longer than the regular Clover one, but this might work. I wonder if there are rectangle Christmas potholders that might be on sale after Christmas. Hey, a mitten potholder might work. I could turn it inside out and sew it,cutting off the thumb, and use the bottom of another for the cord holder on the front and the rest for a flap. Then I could add the zippered pouch for the attaschments. Maybe this will work with little sewing. How do you think this might work?

I think all of your ideas would work very well!!!

Donna Dewberry just showed sewing through that clear vinly for the same type of application :D:D:D I would add a strip of bias on the top of the vinyl, where you are going to stitch, for some additional support.

Craftybear, thanks for the pattern. I'll have to modify it a little to hold the attachments. I have the Clover 2 with some of the different pressing heads. i really like the one that looks like a spatula for pressing seams.
