I love Irish Chain quilts done in 2 colors. My favorite is single, followed by double. Not wild about triple. What a lovely pattern!
I seem to like the old simple patterns but I'm also really getting interested in modern quilts because of all the beauties I've seen here.
It's all good!

I like all the Irish chains, have made several versions. I work mostly with precuts so an Irish chain becomes the obvious choice if I want something quick and simple to put together. I made one for my daughter, not actually considered an Irish Chain, but the final look was Irish Chain, in teals, ivories, and a soft gold. Can't find the pic to post.

If you are using just two colors, single. If you are doing a double or triple I would suggest one or two variations on your aqua for visual interest. Only my opinion. Quilt on. Irish Chain is not nearly as hard as it looks. And they look so stunning!

I just put the first border on the Starred Double Irish Chain that Piecing The Past Stitchers just finished as a block of the week. It was my first Irish Chain and now I can cross that one off my list. Not sure if I'll make another, not for a while anyway.

Wildyard, your Star Irish Chain is amazing. I really like the stars in the middle. I bet this type quilt would make an excellent scrap buster.

My favorite are the double in three colors, there is light gray in the middle of the chain.

mamagranda, that is an amazing Double Irish Chain. The addition of the gray is subtle and inviting. I like it very much.

If I make another one, I will go totally scrappy as I'm not fond of the "chunks" that stand out because each block is made of different color combinations. If all scrappy I think it would blend better in the design. I also think I'd like to try putting all different 6" blocks in the centers instead of all stars. Lol, I did that once with a churn dash block, all different small blocks in the center and I loved how it came out.

I have a double done in scrappy pinks and yellows with a WOW center almost together. I had to put it aside for Christmas, but will finish it when things settle down. I do prefer the double.
