Default What is you favorite table runner pattern?

I just got a new dinning room set and want to make a runner for the table. What is your favorite runner pattern?

What kind of pattern are you looking for? Pieced, appliqué .....? My current favourite is my Water Lily table runner that I posted on QB last week.

All of them! lol This is a great opportunity to do one for each season or color wave. Try out different patterns and fabrics and see what looks and feels right. The 10 minute table runner is a good place to start and then get creative! Keep us posted on your choices.

Welcome to the board Teyla.
I always like to try new table runners.
For a modern look, there is a pattern called Jacob's Jazz that I enjoyed.

There is actually a table runner swap that is finishing up here on the board, but the photos are being shown now.
The posting is the Favorite Things table runner swap. The pictures start on page 19.

My favorite is a Seminole pattern. It gives many opportunities for playing with the fabrics to make different designs. A log cabin is fun too for the same reason.

I saved this picture of a post here on the board, because I loved how you could feature pictures in the runner. I am sorry, I didn't write down the person's name who made and posted it. It could be any seasonal picture really. Don't you agree?

All that being said, I have used many types of blocks to make runners. It is so very fun and quick to make a runner.

There's this table runner http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...r-t169692.html Even though it says Christmas table runner, it can be anything depending on the choices you make for the fabrics. I'm sure the pattern is available free, but I can't find it right now.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

RedGarnet22: I love that runner. I'll have to try and find the pattern.

charsuewilson: I love this one too. I think I'll try it.

I make the 10 min table runner but usually make it much longer. I machine applique blocks or shapes of any pattern I want on it. It's easy and fast and sale great at our guild's sale table at community craft shows.

Depending on the shape of your table, I also like the Ozark Star hexagon that can be found at Fons and Porter. By changing up the fabrics, you can get so many different looks and they could be reversible as well.
