Last week I was checking out the Joseph's Coat Free Quilt Along

http://dontlooknow.typepad.com/dont_...lt-along-.html

and was thinking that this wold be a great hand sewing take along project for travelling.

I have been working on a GMFG take long for the past 8 years.. no it is NOT done but I am DONE WITH IT for a while.
This time I promised myself I would make the Joseph's Coat finished quilt SMALLER.. the GMFG is 96" by 96". One reason it is not done.

The first direction for the Joseph's Coat Quilt Along was to draft my own block.

Since I am using the hexagon cardboard templates from paperpieces.com for the GMFG and love the process I decided to contact them.

Much easier to let someone else do the templates.. nothing wrong with getting a little help.

They didn't sell any.. major bummer.
So I emailed them and put in a request.
Well.. they are making the Joseph's Coat templates and putting them for sale on their website this coming Sunday!

They are making the templates for an 8" block (Per my request)!

I am putting in my order on Sunday.
DH and I are planning a trip to HAWAII the first two weeks of May.

I plan on making some Joseph Coat baby quilts for my two granddaughters in Hawaiian fabrics.

I will post photos if I manage to finish a top!
Don't hold your breath.

Sometimes if you ASK you shall RECEIVE.
I love the quilting world.
