Since it is small I might tie it to the back. Go thru the back into the cross seams and tie it. This will secure it and avoid having to quilt it. Catch the cross seams and not go thru to the top. I havwe done this and it worked very well.

Glad to see you made this little twister, you did a great job ! I have this pattern and I will make it someday, looks like patience to me ! Let's see, pattern says finished size is 10" so that must make the pinwheels about an 1" sq.. LOL I think you should just do the fmq meander or stippling stitch. The pattern says they used smoke monofilament thread & stippling. Or maybe it could be tied and dmc cut short.

Itty Bitty Primitive Pinwheels is the name of the pattern. It was a kit that I got from Quilts Plus. The template is about 2" square. I say "about" as I don't have it in front of me.

Quilting.....the back of this little top is nothing but seams. I'm afraid to try and sew on it as I feel as thought I'll break a few needles trying to get thru all the layers.

You could easily use a larger pinwheel template and create this pattern. I don't think I'd use this one again. I'd use the 5" template or maybe even the 10" one.

Thanks again ladies your kind words are appreciated!
