I love the 1/4" foot with the bar-but find it isn't accurate-I have to change the needle position - but I do appreciate the guide.

I agree. I found that I was "cramming" my fabric up against the rail and not getting an accurate 1/4". So I switched back to my regular 1/4" foot and I have no trouble with it.
