I have a Janome 6500 and an open toe darning foot. I have a nick inside that was pulling up the threads towards the end of the quilting process. Is that related to your story at all?

yes I am very lucky, he came to my house and even brought the Janome 3160 along just in case i wanted to keep that one instead since it's a brand new machine and would be the same price. Isn't he awesome? I guess it's someting with being in the south... you know southern hospitality and such. I'm very lucky. I came here 3 yrs ago from Cleveland Ohio so it really is a new world for me. No one went out of their way to be helpful there so I'm still getting used to how nice things are here :)

How funny. I had a similar experience a few weeks ago with my Janome 11000. I was having a heck of time with embroidery - the bobbin thread kept pulling to the top. I finally gave up and took it in to the shop. I was using the quilting foot instead of the embroidery foot. We changed the foot and the embroidery was once again perfect. I really, really, really need to check the book every time I start a new project!!!

I've been to this store. They are a distance for me but it is huge compared to the one I have in my tiny town. LOVE your shop and the people working there are so helpful. Good to know it hasn't changed. Enjoy the quilting!

So glad you got some help with your machine. I love my 6500. I bought it several years ago and love the brand. I ended up replacing my serger with a Janome and then bought a Janome Gem Platinum 720 to take for teaching. So as you can see, I am hooked on Janomes.
