Janome 6600 Carrying Case

I am looking for a case in which to transport my Janome 6600 to sewing classes as well as back and forth to Florida in a car or truck. Does anyone know if there is a hard, rolling case made specifically for the Janome 6600? If not, do any of you fellow owners have suggestions?

I wish I had some info for you and you can bet I'll be watching this thread. One complaint I have about the 6600 is the flimsy vinyl cover. For the price of the machine they should have done better. I have an old 4623 Janome and it came with a hard case that slid right over the machine and positioned into the carrying handle. Voila! Travel ready. Good luck.

When my friend bought her new 6600, she bargained the 3 piece rolling carrier in as part of the deal.
That said, Joann's used to always have carriers - they were around $80 (but couponable). I use it for my Bernina for traveling or storage if I need it out of the way for whatever reason.
The carrier is soft-sided but with support (as stated above).
This one is a bit different from mine, but that was over five years ago.

You can check them out your local Joann's. You just want to make sure it's sturdy, and the handle and wheels aren't crap. ;-) It's always returnable.

I too was very disappointed in the cheapo cover that came with mine. My Husky came with a hard cover.
If your really worried about the soft sided ones, get one and cut plexi or some other hard plastic to insert on the sides with velcro straps to hold the plexi in place.

i don't think a machine like the 6600 is designed around any expectation that we'll be carting them to classes. it's a heavy duty machine, so it's ... heavy.
the cover isn't "cheapo". i'm quite sure it will last for many years. i much prefer it to the hard cover that came with another one of my machines. because it's soft, i can fold it and set it aside when i'm using the machine. the hard case takes up a lot of precious space.
when you shop for a rolling cart, make sure to measure the machine in all directions and look for a cart that will provide enough inside space for it to fit.
