I pulled out a Lone Star quilt top I pieced some time ago and want to machine quilt it. Would love some ideas for quilting, especially the set-in corner squares and triangles. Feathers are the usual but would like something new and funky in a continuous line design. Any suggestions?

I suppose you could use a continuous sewing design, but stars really shine when outlined! :-)

Sorry, I don't have a picture of a Lone Star Quilt. I did an 8 point star quilt a couple of weeks ago that turned out fantastic (IMHO)! :-)

Don't have a photo at this time. But it is a scrap quilt (a mystery quilt from quilt guild) that has 4 large corner squares and 4 triangles set in as is typical with the Lone Star/Bethelham star patterns. To me, these call for a design. I have two antique ones that have the feathered circles which are great. Just looking for something a little different. And I am not much of a designer - right brain doesn't always do it.

Please look at my link at webshots....I have loads of lone stars quilted by many quilters! Some were done in invisible thread...some one color and some color on color. You might see something you like....

Wow. So many beautiful quilts. I just recently learned that the Lone Star pattern is a Native American pattern used for rememberance and honor in the culture. Always something new to know about quilts and their history.

Thank you...yes that is why I've made so many....I went over and looked at my own quilts and noticed most of the designs are feathers! I hope you find something you like eventually...could google lone star quilts images and see tons more. The Amish lone stars are gorgeous too.
