Default Jelly Rolls

Not sure why it took so long for the light bulb to finally come on, but it did. Pulled out all of the 2 1/2" strips that I had wadded in drawers. Sorted them out by colors and boy, do I have a lot of browns and tans, neither one my favorite color. Got them all rolled up and stored away. Not that I need an excuse, but now I need to go shopping to fill in the colors that I am short on

I keep my 2 1/2" strips like that to use as scrappy bindings. I also make scrappy strata for charity quilts. But, yes, it does sound like you need to shop for your missing colors!

I used all of my "ugly" fabric strips (I buy a lot of scrap bags) in a strip quilt. It turned out gorgeous and my favorite quilt to wrap up in. Given that you have all browns and tans, you might add small touches of black and end up with a wonderful masculine quilt.

I love browns and tan, and use them with lots of other colors, particularly beiges thru to white and blacks. Happy shopping for your other colors.

I find I have used some of my jelly roll stripes to do binding on quilts.

Thanks ArtsyOne and quiltingloulou for the suggestions. Probably have enough to do a rail fence.

Do a swap with someone who loves browns and tans.
