I was in Springfield, IL on Monday at the Hancock Fabric Store. One of the employees there told me Joanne's is opening a Super store on Wabash where Circuit City used to be. They are closing the two regular stores to combine for the super store. Don't know when this is going to happen.

I was at the Joann's over by the mall on Sunday. The fabric cutter in there told me they were closing both Joann's and opening the super store in the old Circuit City building in September. I don't really know what makes a Joann's Super Store super, but I'm anxious to find out!

We have a Joann's Etc. (superstore) in Canton, Ohio. It's got a lot of "stuff". It has more of a variety of home decorating fabric and more cottons compared to my local store. It also has classrooms, a sewing machine shop, and is about 3 times the size of the local store. In general, though, just lots more "stuff". I get tired and lost just looking around

The one I've been in is larger than the others, has more home dec stuff like Hobby Lobby but not as much, more fabric of all types, a sewing center with Husky machines including a MegaQuilter 18, and a small area set aside for classes. I think they also have picture framing like Hobby Lobby. I know when I walked in the door, the area to the right definitely reminded me of Hobby Lobby and the area to the left reminded me of a fabric only store. It was much brighter and more open feeling than any other Joann's I've been in, also. There are 5 in the St. Louis metro area including the new Super Joann's. Of course my local JA is the smallest :-(

Were I live in Elk River Mn they are planning to put a Joann's superstore in. It might be next year or longer before we get it. I think the the city of Elk River has been courting it as it keeps the business in the area and that helps with taxes and providing jobs.

I used to live by a super store. I have been very upset after our move and been eating loads of chocolate because I have not been able to find a fabric store that carries more then 5 bolts of fabric.

I was at a Joann's superstore in Amhurst,NY recently and I have to say I like the small one in Niagara Falls,NY better.

There was a Husquvarna area set up with the long arm and everything.

I think there was more fabric... the boy's dad was buying me my Accuquilt GO! and he said that if I went over there we probably won't get out of the store!!!

The Niagara Falls Joann's is closer to the border so it's easy to whip in spend lots of money and whip home! I also found the staff there to be AWESOME because the store is smaller, so they tend to know where stuff is...

I also have been to the Joann's in Batavia, NY which is also a small store, and it's okay as well, the staff isn't as knowledgeable, but the selection is okay.

super long lines at the cutting counter and super long lines at the registers, lol love my super joanns.... the trick is when you go in grab a number for the cutter counter and then do your shopping, by the time your done your number will be up. And if you have someone with you have them go stand in line at the register and by the time they are done cutting your fabric it will be your turn at the register.....see if I am at Joanns too long my husband will get suspicious and check the on-line credit card statement and I get busted before he has a chance to spend too much on tools at sears.
