I'd appreciate hearing from other hand quilters if you have had success with the "Aunt Becky's" tool or spoon quilting. I bought the Aunt Becky's, but haven't tried it yet. I hope I can hear from those who have used these methods and learn some good tips from you. Thanks!

Here is a link to show you the Aunt Becky for quilting.
We just had a meet and greet in Shipshewana, Indiana on October 19th and Melody uses the Aunt Becky for her hand quilting.

I've had mine for a while now, and I made a 2ft square baby wholecloth quilt so that I could practice with my Aunt Becky. By the time I had finished that, I more or less got small, regular stitches, but not severa on the needle at a time, because I can't use the kind of thimble that is needed to do that.

You can see pics of my baby wholecloth on my PDA, page 261

I tried using a spoon underneath the quilt, but could never get the hang of it.
After trying LOTS of different things, I finally found something that works for me...

I use a cheap spoon from the thrift store that I bent the handle back. It does take practice, but once you get the hang of it it is faster. I hold the spoon at a slight angle and the needle scrapes off the back of the spoon. There have been discussions of dulling the needles faster but I haven't really noticed it.
