Being a SAHM is a wonderful occupation. I wish I could have had that experience but alas it was not to be. As wonderful as it is though it's one of the hardest jobs around and doesn't always get the respect it should receive. My daughter, another SAHM, calls often and I know it's just so she can talk to an adult for awhile.
Thank goodness for the internet. It does help us retain our sanity and keep in touch with the real (?) world! Hang in there and write whenever you feel the need!

I have been out and walking some on the farm. There are 19 baby lambs, several new bunnies, and will be 2 colts anytime!! I haven't seen any baby chicks, yet. The pigs are getting big and starting to stink really bad. LOL! Just a little walk to see all this does me wonders! ah, and the fresh air, although, not so fresh near the pigs. ;)
Being a SAHM is my favorite job! Out of all the jobs I've ever had, this is the hardest, but it is the most rewarding. I wouldn't trade it for a job with a HUGE paycheck!
I talk to my mom at LEAST once a day on the phone. It's not long distance, so I take advantage of that.
This Quilt Board has kept me sane. I needed somewhere to be. :D
I'll probably be MIA for a while around the second week of April. I am going to help my DD make a bunch of cookies and decorate them with color flow icing. I need to let them dry for a while. We're going to make lots of Easter cookies! I haven't done much baking for a while, so it should be fun.

What fun you must have in spring. It makes you realize just why you chose to live where you do. Periodically, when I'm wondering what am I doing up here so far away from my grandkids, my husband and I will spend the day in the redwoods. I call it "redwood therapy". It rejuvinates the soul, reassures you God is in His heaven and all will be just fine!
We all have different methods of coping with our life. We find what works best for us. Meanwhile, it's sure nice to be able to chat on line with our fellow quilters, folks who understand our fascination with cutting up big hunks of fabric into little pieces of fabric and then sewing them all back together into another big hunk of fabric. :lol:

I love to visit new places and see different things. I'd love to see the redwoods. I'm glad to be home when we come back, though.

Gosh! I am having a hard time getting any work done today! I keep getting lured back to this Board.... and tonite is quilt class too....
I may live in the suburbs, but I live very close to Cal Poly Pomona (they make one of the cute floats in the Rose Parade), and most mornings I drive right by the pastures with the Kellogg Arabians - can't wait to see this year's crop of foals!

Hi Buttercream i'm so addicted to this message board i don't get any sewing done ,don't answer the phone and rarely return my phone calls. Is there anyone out there can give some hint on how to stay off the message board. I get early in the a.m and do all my chores including cleaning and cooking so i can get to the message board, by the way i'm married for 33 years, 4 children ,don't work, retired correctional nurse ,live in Oklahoma City, Okla.and we're having bad weather getting ready for tornadoes ,we already have the tornado warning and watch.Happy Happy Quilting

Hi Buttercream i'm so addicted to this message board i don't get any sewing done ,don't answer the phone and rarely return my phone calls. Is there anyone out there can give some hint on how to stay off the message board. I get early in the a.m and do all my chores including cleaning and cooking so i can get to the message board, by the way i'm married for 33 years, 4 children ,don't work, retired correctional nurse ,live in Oklahoma City, Okla.and we're having bad weather getting ready for tornadoes ,we already have the tornado warning and watch.Happy Happy Quilting

how very odd you people are. i never come here. never read. never post. it's all soooooooooooooo boring and "yesterday".
don't like computers, either. i only have [wait, gotta count] 5 in my office and 45 more to maintain and keep track of between our 3 buildings. just because they all run 24/7 and i open my mail before the poor, desperate dogs get let out in the morning, you shouldn't think for a minute i have any interest at all in the stupid things.
and if you still believe that after you click on the member listing, i've got some land in way-south florida i'd like to sell you. ooo! i can also let you have the Brooklyn Bridge for a song.

PS - turn it off. disconnect it. put it in the trunk of the car. push the car into the nearest really deep lake. then you might be able to stay away from the computer for about .... hmmm ... just how long does it take to drag a car out of a really deep lake, anyway?
