Is there another name for the snails tail. I would like to make a quilt using this pattern, but I am having trouble finding one.

I've paper pieced 6" snails trail blocks and they turned out very well. Google snails trail paper piece

Yes, and that's one of my favorite patterns!!! I prefer it with more than 2 colors though.

I have an old pattern from the 70s that's very similar to the snails trail called a Virginia Reel.
