Oh that sucks. How long did it take to stop the bleeding? I sliced through 2 of my fingers a few years ago with a can lid while at work. Luckily I work in a hospital. It took over 10 and 25 minutes for the bleeding to stop. Got stitches on each finger. Couldn't work my normal job, so for two weeks I was a really expensive secretary! Hope you get the care you need.

The cut resistant glove will save a cut from being really bad. Amazon has sizes from very small to very large. But nothing will help if you don't use it with every cut. I am a believer and a devoted fan of using a safety tool when rotary cutting. All it took was one cut for me.

I jammed the bobbin winder metal rod into my arm 2 weeks ago and they glued my wound together. It is completely healed now and clear. My skin is so old it is like thin paper and tears so easily, but the glue worked.

I've also heard super glue is better than stitches. My cousin is a doctor and his daughter fell and popped her head open. He apparently cleaned the wound and put super glue on it and it healed just fine.

I haven't cut myself that way - but I've forgotten to put the safety down on the blade and smacked my hand or finger into the cutter while it's laying on the table. OUCH. I'll probably drop it on my foot next.
There are Kevlar gloves. I have a mandoline for the kitchen and bought some. They work.
True cut has a ruler with a guide lip on it, and the cutter fits over the guide. Only problem is ruler size. I tried it to avoid the ruler/cutter slipping.

I could have gone through the hassle of getting stitches. It was still bleeding four hours later. My daughter said since it was still bleeding after three hours wrapped in gauze I could either do butterfly strips or stitches if that didn't work. I opted for butterfly strips. It's actually on the top of the finger from the bottom corner of the nail down about an inch down the side. I went down and closed the cutter. There was blood on it! I was worried about it dripping on the fabric!
