Does anyone have any "Quilt Store" Kaufman Kona Cotton yardage with the selvedges still attached? I have some that I am 99.5% sure is Kaufman Kona. The selvedges are narrow, blank and do not have any fluffiness at the bottom, if that makes sense. I also have a large quantity of kona from Joann's which has a different selvedge.

I am hoping that someone can confirm the description of the Quilt Store Kona for me.

Thanks for any help! ::

I have some here from Handcocks of Paducah. Narrow blank selvedges. You kind of have to look to see it even.

selvedges can be different depending on the print plant used or base goods. So that is not always the identifyer

My main concern is that I just want some kind of confirmation that what I believe is the non-Kaufman label kona is actually just that. I really wish that I had known about the labeling difference and/or remembered which label it had.

I have a quilt that I want to finish piecing but I really don't want to use non-quilt shop material in this one. For piece of mind as well as quality and weight issues. Although, maybe if it is quilted enough in the sashing area it won't matter?

If you cannot see or feel the difference "for sure" in the fabric before doing anything with it, you'll never be able to tell after quilting it. Why stress yourself out about it? Relax!

We've carried Kona cotton in our shop for years. Sometimes the selvedges are plain and flat, and sometimes they are fluffy.
