    Default Keeping It Fresh

I still do an occasional guest speaker spot at local guilds and have decided to change things up again. I used to drag in a ton of appliqued quilts and tops and do what was basically a detailed show and tell using the quilts and tops as examples of techniques and trial and error. It was a lot of work and now that I have sold so many quilts, and told the stories so many times, I am ready for a change. This month I will show up with a few quilts and sample pieces and a bunch of patterns and how tos. For the past three years I have had a German tour group arrive for a mini make and take. They had originally been scheduled for programs with the National Parks when the government shut down while they were here and I offered to entertain them. I will show them how to adapt patterns without separate pieces or numbering or even from a photo and have them put together a small make and take piece ready to put on to a background and stitch at home. All they need is a pair of small sharp scissors if they have them and a couple of ironing stations. Something a little bit different just for fun!

Absolutely love your designs. The one with the little girls is so appealing. I like your idea for presenting a mini workshop to show them that applique with fusible web is not necessarily daunting.
