Red and white gingham wallpaper and red and white checkerboard floor opening to living room with pale yellow/green walls. It's so cozy. I think alot of people especially younger than me are going for the 'retro' look, kind of an updated 50's look. Bright colours, repro fabric from that time.

Just MHO.

Mine has cream-colored walls, white cabinets and a little baby-blue here and there in canisters, picture frame, etc. Dining room has cream-colored carpet and light blue walls with dusty-rose-colored curtains.

When we bought this house is already had forest green corian counter tops, not much I can do about that. I accent with red and yellow and have roosters
everywhere. Table runners and placemates sound like a great idea. go for it! :D :D :D

My kitchen walls are sage green and accents are dark brown, muted orange and yellow in the adjoining family room.

Looks like there is a lot of green kitchens. I read that green is one of the colors in decorating now, kind of based on more "green" living.
