The LQS has a quilt really similar to that I believe its an Amazon Star? Not totally sure. They sell is as a paper pieced quilt and teach a class on it. I tried looking it up but couldn't find it quickly...

Oh, I spoke to soon it's a Judy Niemeyer pattern called Agave Garden http://www.quiltworx.com/?cmd=browse here's a link to her website.

Nope, just double checked it's similar though

I don't know what it is but I'm sure it has to be paper-pieced. Combination Mariner's Star and something else maybe?

It is very similar to the Amazon Star pattern. I was at the Maggie Valley Quilt Show last weekend and saw a photo of an Amazon Star. It was amazing!
