I am making a quilt for a friend who has just retired. She likes dark taupe, brick red, and olive green. I found this fabric at my LQS and bought a couple of yards. The stripped fabric will be used in the border somehow. Does anyone have an idea for a pattern for a quilt that would showcase the red fabric? I will add the other colors as the pattern requires. Needs to be fairly easy! Thanks for your help.

Beautiful fabric. How about the warm wishes pattern?

A simple nine patch would definitely showcase the red if you use a white alternating fabric.

I think that a two color quilt would look best and i would use the brown/black (can't tell from photo) as the second color. If you use 3 colors, maybe a double irish chain.

Warm Wishes or 9 patch blocks alternating with snowballs. No white - maybe a soft tan or gold print and muted green.

I like the fabric. What about rail fence - pretty easy & only requires a few colors. Should be a tutorial in the search or topic area of the board.
