Welcome from southeastern Michigan! 8-) I agree with sewcrafty. I'm sure I have seen something on the board about using hankies.

The pattern is in an old magazine that had all butterfly patterns. I'm at work so will look tonight. It will probably take me a few days to find--I have several boxes of old mags that I'm keeping for my retirement--ha ha.! I too started making butterflies with old hankies. I think I collected enough to make an all blue hankie/butterfly quilt and another with different colored hankies--so pretty.

I see that "up north" posted a link so I won't have to look. I guess I should get back to work.!

I am now in the process of finishing a queen size 25th Ann quilt made of linen tatted/ crocheted ladies hankies and napkins. I have machine embroidered lovely flowers and initials in the middle of most . They do not all come out even around the edge so I added lace where needed. So many are delicate and thin so hand tacked at corners and inconspicious places onto white backing. Now I have tied the entire top/batting /backing with white embroidery thread. Lots of work but for a lovely daughter. I also addedsome small crochet dolies made by my mother and a tatted hankie from her other grandma...it is a real work of memories

I have the magazine with the handkerchief butterfly pattern you're looking for but I also saw it advertized for sale in the Quitler's World newsletter this week - go to quiltersworld.com or [email protected] to see latest patterns and books on offer
