I fixed the squares ... and I've done 6 of 20 blocks for the border. I'm also attaching a picture of the pattern. The problem I am seeing is that my green is darker than my patterned fabric, so it's taking over. Oh well, too late now LOL

It looks nice now! It funny how different people "see" different parts of a quilt. I always wonder what my work looks like through other people's eyes, and if they're seeing things that I don't.
I think that as you join the blocks, the green might diminish somewhat. I've done a couple quilts that rely on flow between blocks, and they looked really disappointing on the design wall, but great once assembled. I can't wait to see the finished top!

This is an interesting study in color placement! Your darkest fabric maps to the blue in the paper pattern; the medium print maps to the orange, and the lightest fabric maps to the yellow. However, the darkest color in the paper pattern is the orange, not the blue. As a result, the various shapes that the orange pieces make in the paper pattern are less noticeable in the fabric blocks, and the shapes made by the dark-fabric/blue-paper are much more noticeable in the fabric blocks. Both the pattern and the fabric blocks are nice, but they are quite different to the eye as a result of where the darkest elements are.

So I went to a store with the patterned and yellow fabric, and decided on the "dark" green.
What I should have done was made the "orange" in the pattern the dark green, and the yellow and green in the pattern the yellow and patterned fabric.
But I'm almost done now LOL and I'm certainly not redoing it hahahaha .. so it will be done this way, and I will move on to another quilt soon!

OMG ... I cannot believe the mistake I have just made. I am so mad at myself! The "border" squares are the wrong size. They are six inch blocks, and they should be nine-inch blocks.
I have two options. Make a bunch more blocks and hope it works out border-wise. Or, do a whole different layout with what I have!
ARGH!!!! The things we do to ourselves!
Before I make more blocks, I am going to see if I can get a new layout that I like!
