Last spring I bought fabric for a quilt. Designed the quilt and started to work on it. Now the piecing is almost finished but I need a little more of one fabric. Went to my LQS where I had purchased the fabric only to find out they don't have any left! Can't find it anywhere online. Didn't save any of the selveges when I cut the fabric! So, it's back to the drawing board to figure out how to finish the quilt.

Lesson learned: Always keep the selvege edges from your fabrics in case you need more and can't find the fabric at your LQS. You will have the manufacturer's name you can might be able to find it online. :)

I agree. I keep all my salvages to make me a mug rug or table runner with.

I just learned the same lesson as you, Alleyoup1
I started a quilt some 5 or 6 years ago, not knowing what size I would make it. I just wanted to learn how to quilt. It is my first ever bigger project. I used some fabrics that I had (not much, as I was just starting to learn)
This quilt kept growing and I kept buying some fabrics to match as I kept piecing.
I am glad that I could manage to finish the top, but since then, I buy more than a yard at one time and keep all the selvage

Thank you everyone for the link, in case I run into a similar problem in the future
