BTW, may I ask what GMTA stands for? Thanks.

I have this pattern for a carpenter star by Debbie Maddy. The star is very large in the center of the quilt.

Here is a picture similar to the one I have. http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/sto...3&Item_ID=1013

I've been wanting to enlarge this Carpenter's Wheel for a while now, so your question gave me the perfect excuse to play with EQ.

To continue the pattern to the edges of a quilt this big resulted in an insanely busy look, so I removed a swath of blocks and made a diamond pattern around the outside edge.

The pdf attachment contains an alternate color, a triangle template and yardage charts for this quilt, which is 101" square. You could make it as large as you want by adding borders.

Hope you like it!

Oh! Thank you so much! I very much appreciate your clarifying that. So frustrating trying to find things now.

This new board game of hide 'n seek is not fun. Why didn't they just keep it named My Pages? Good grief.

Thank you again/ that really helped.

Polyparrot .... You are amazing!!! I have 720 3.5" squares cut and ready to go. Also my entire red stash packed, maybe a bit excessive for one weekend, lol.

Glad to help!

You must have a GO cutter to have all those squares cut already - that's amazing!

With 3" squares, this quilt will finish at 61" without adding any more borders - is that going to be big enough for you?

The first one had 5" finished squares and the quilt will be 101" square - and I'm thinking I will probably need to put at least a 5" border around the right, left and bottom sides of the quilt to make it better for a king-size bed. (Especially if you're sharing with a blanket-snatcher. )

Polyparrot (such a cute name, btw), thanks for sharing your mockup with us. I agree that the break between the
main star and the border decor really sets them both off nicely. It's great to be able to 'create' variations on EQ.
