Why are you even quilting the linning? I don't quilt my linnings as something may snag on them. JMHO

Most of it will be covered with the pocket, I do not quilt the lining I find when I add the pocket it remains stable enough. I usually just do straight lines on the front part.

To be honest, that is not the greatest free motion but we all started somewhere and you will get better with practice. If you are selling the item, I think I would take those stitches out and do just straight lines. Don't give up on the free motion however, the only way to improve is to work at it. I have many things I've done that aren't very good but I'm better now than I was. Be sure and post your finished work.

I'm one of those people who tries out new recipes on company! That's asking for trouble. It's never a good idea to sell someone your practice pieces. Do your best work. Make them appreciate the quality in what you made.

My honest opinion, if I purchased a bag with that kind of stitching in the lining I'd be very disappointed and would probably return it. Just do straight line stitching.

Please use a black thread or nearly black thread (if that is a black background on the fabric) when you do your straight stitching. It will blend in very nicely with the print.

your stitches look too big for FM. try using a smaller stitch.
