I am doing the house BOM on this site that started in January. I have never paper pieced before and have a question So far it seems to be coming along ok, mind you, I have been working on this block for two days but learning something new is good. When I get all of the rows pieced do I trim all seams to 1/4" and then join the rows with the paper still attached? Thanks for any help.

a pic of where you are would help a ton to understand better. but if i got you you have the block finished and ready to sew to another block right? if that is the case, you can leave the paper on till you are ready to sandwich the quilt. it will help keep seams right and keep the blocks from getting out of whack which can happen(especially if you are me). I have done it both ways before.

you can do some free pp patterns off Carol Doak's site to practice on.

I tend to leave the paper on when putting PP blocks together.

Right now I just have the three rows for this block made. Sorry I wasn't more clear. From your answer I take it that I will leave the paper attached while joining these 3 blocks. Thank so much for your reply.

I leave the paper on until I am ready to start quilting it.
When PPing, you get a lot of bias and the paper will help stabilize it. :D:D:D
