I see so many comments about quilters not knowing about shops that others have posted in their area. So, I thought I would create a comprehensive list by state. It seems all the lists on the web are incomplete or list shops that no longer exist.

Rather than go through all the posts, would all of you help me by posting the information in this thread and I will compile it into a file?

Here is the info that I would be looking for:

Name
Exact Street Address
Town/City, State, Zip
Phone number
Website Address as a link (be sure to put http://www.xxxxxx)
Comments about specialties for the shop, such as classes, mostly moda, features orientals, etc.

As a group, we can keep this list current if you let me know when a shop opens or closes. I will date each entry so we can be sure info is current.

I work two jobs, so this is not a quickie thing for me to complete, but I will get it done as soon as possible.

Thanks for your help!

Diane

By having our members tell me of a shop that is open in their area, I should be able to get a valid list of open quilt shops and their locations, rather than me having to search all over the internet and verify open/closed shops.

It is a big shop in a small town. It's located right on the town square. They offer classes for all levels of quilters. They have two mid-arm quilting machines that you can rent time on.

Have you looked at the book Quilter's Tavel Companion? I keep mine in the car at all times. 'Can't tell you how many wonderful shops I've happened to find.

I don't own the book, but their website is incomplete.
