I am making a bunch of christmas stockings and am wondering what kind of batting to use? They will be hanging over the fireplace, so they may get hot.

Also how would you sew them together? Would you put a cover over the batting on the inside like a liner?

    Thanks!

I use warm & natural but you may want to check flame rating depending on how close your hanging. I live in FL. Rarely light a fire.

We will be having a gas fireplace so glass infront of it but I know the glass gets so hot you can not touch it.

If you can iron the fabric it should be good on the mantel.

You could always use InsulBrite. The stuff that you use for potholders and stuff. And HobbyLobby has it for a really great price - in store and on line. HTH
